Oksana Oracheva Discusses the Vladimir Potanin Foundation's Work in a Special Issue of Rossiyskaya Gazeta

Oksana Oracheva, General Director of the Vladimir Potanin Foundation, gave an interview to Rossiyskaya Gazeta for its special issue Charity in Russia, published to coincide with the release of the annual RAEX ranking of charitable organizations. In the 2026 ranking, the Foundation ranked first among Russia's private and corporate nonprofits.

In the interview, Oracheva discussed the development of philanthropy in Russia, the role of professional communities, and why the most interesting ideas often emerge at the intersection of diverse fields and experiences.

Over its 26 years of operation, the Foundation has built a system of long-term support for education, culture, sports, and the nonprofit sector. Oracheva says the Foundation's role is not limited to supporting individual projects. It is equally important to create opportunities for professional development, knowledge sharing, and collaboration. This interaction between people with diverse areas of expertise helps generate unconventional solutions and launch new initiatives.

The most interesting ideas emerge at the intersection of different fields," Oracheva says. When people with diverse experiences and perspectives work together, they come up with solutions that are difficult to find within a single professional field.

Another topic of the conversation was the communities that form around the Foundation's programs. Through connections built during the programs, participants continue to communicate, share knowledge, and launch joint projects years after completion.
